Zone III Director
KATHY BONOGOFSKI
For Kathy, there are two things in her life that she feels very fortunate to have the opportunity to be involved in, learn from, and give a lot to: working with children and families through Willamette ESD and her involvement with OSEA.
With degrees in early childhood education and sociology, Kathy has worked with families and children as a home visitor for the past 20 years. The first ten years, she worked at Community Action Head Start as a teacher/home visitor. Now, she has worked ten years as an Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education Intake Specialist for the WESD. She is the first contact from the WESD for families of children with suspected disabilities.
But Kathy also works as the Willamette ESDEA Chapter 95 President, BER/Steward, and Bargaining Team Representative. Then, at Conference 2005, she was elected by Conference delegates in Zone III to represent them on the OSEA State Board of Directors.
"I have a strong belief in the benefits of Unions and a strong sense of fairness where employee/employer relations are concerned," said Kathy.
Although Kathy was born in
California
, she considers herself a lifelong Oregonian since she has lived in the
Portland
/
Willamette
Valley
area since she was an infant. Today, she is a wife of 25 years with three sons and two grandchildren.
