Zone I Director
STAN UENTILLIE
Even though he was born and raised in Arizona, Stan Uentillie had a strong connection to Oregon where his parents had worked as interpreters at the Chemawa Indian School.
Married with six children, Stan had worked in special education and was a member of the local union before he moved to Oregon with his family in 1991 to attend Pacific University. After two years of study, Stan accepted a position with Forest Grove School District and has worked there ever since as an educational assistant. His job includes being a recess monitor, a cafeteria monitor, and an aide in the dual immersion class of Hispanic and English-speaking students and in a blended class of third and fourth graders. He also works with children who have a hard time managing themselves within an academic setting and with medically fragile kids.
Within his first year of working with the District, Stan became a member of OSEA and looked for ways in which he could be actively involved. He became a Chapter Treasurer and then Chapter President. As Chapter President, he attended Member Organizer Training, Legislative Education Day, and other trainings by OSEA. Then, at the 2005 Conference, Stan was elected to be Zone I Director, and he was reelected at the 2007 Conference.
