General Meeting
April 20, 2006
President Jill Simmons called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. This
month's meeting was held in the Auditorium of the Ed Center.
The flag was saluted.
Minutes - The March minutes were read by Secretary
Linda Warner. The minutes stand as read.
Treasurer's Report - As of March 31, 2006
there is $13,462.22 and $9,092.94 in the President's Release Funds. The
treasurer's report stands as read.
Conference Delegates - The following delegates
will represent Chapter #1 at Conference 2006: Theresa Shelby, Darlene
Cook, Gretchen Elliott, Cheryl Duhon, Marilyn Moss, Ryan Eisel, Kathie
Tagwerker, Mike Duhon as well as Kathy Wiebke, Chapter Vice President
and Linda Warner Chapter Secretary. Alternates will be Bradley Barnhart
and LeAnn Morris.
Benefit Update 2006-2007: Patrick Munyon,
Classified Benefit Coordinator explained OSBA. ODS has quoted an approximate
increase of 9% and OSBA has made a commitment of not more than a 7% increase
for the plan year beginning October 2006. More information will be available
at the open Executive Board meeting May 12th.
Committees -
* TSA Vendors/Fairs - Ing, Valic, American
Century have been selected as our TSA vendors. The fairs will be held
May 9 and 11 and June 6 and 8. There will be a session from 12-2, 4-6,
and 7-9.
* Staff Development Survey - Will be coming
out early May.
* Market Survey - Has identified 8 positions
to be surveyed.
* A meeting for all 197 day employees will be April 25 and May 4
Member Organizing Summer Institute - This
will be held July 21, 22 and 23. Anyone interested in attending is to
contact Jill Simmons.
Member Assistance Fund/Raffle Tickets - This
fund is for assisting those families who have experienced an emergency.
It is funded by raffle tickets sold at conference. The scholarship committee
is doing a pre-sale this year in hopes of raising more money. The tickets
will be $3 a piece or 4/$10 and you don’t have to be present to
win.
May Chapter Meeting - The meeting will be
on May 18th at Papa's Pizza on Coburg Rd. The classified retirees will
be honored, the scholarship will be awarded and the chapter officers
will be installed.
Chapter Meeting Sites - A decision on the
meetings sites will be announced at a later date.
Food Council - Two alternates are needed for
the council: one from the elementary level and one from the middle school
level.
Door Prize - Linda Warner, Instructional Assistant
at Lifeskills, won the $25.00 door prize.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:37 p.m.
