General Meeting

November 17, 2005

President Jill Simmons called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. This months meeting was held at Holt Elementary.

The flag was saluted.

Minutes - The October minutes were ready by Secretary Linda Warner. The minutes stand as read.

Treasurer's Report - Treasurer Judy Haack reported that $12,287.89 is in the General Fund and $10,341.32 in the President's Release Fund. The report will stand as read.

Contract – Copies of the new contract will not be available for employees as it is online. They will only be available for building stewards, E-Board members and chapter officers.

Section 125 - John from Manley Services spoke to members about Section 125 otherwise known at Flexible Spending Account. Patrick Munyon answered questions. Pete Mooers wanted to know more about “use it or lose it".

Zone IV Meeting - A Zone IV meeting will be held December 10 at Rhododendron Elementary in Florence. The topic of discussion will be the 10 most represented issues classified face. Watch for more details.

Sick Leave Bank - Linda Warner reported that open enrollment has now ended. We had over 450 employees join the bank this year. Darlene Cook wanted to know how the sick leave bank is protected from fraudulent use. Jill Simmons explained.

JBC - Patrick Munyon reported that the JBC meets tomorrow and will focus on the Wellness Clinic and planning for the future.

Holiday Family - Kathie Tagwerker wanted to know if we were going to sponsor a family for the holiday. It was agreed that we should go ahead with the project. Jill Simmons will begin the process.

Door Prize - Michael Duhon, Warehouse, won the $25.00 door prize.

The next Chapter #1 meeting will be January 19, 2006 in the library of Kennedy Middle School.

The meeting was adjourned at 5:03 p.m.
