| A MESSAGE FROM YOUR CHAPTER PRESIDENT | Hello
to all! Now, that we have a very eventful year done, it’s
time to start a new year. Last year saw a new contract,
increasing membership and more OSEA presence in all the
buildings. A great job done by all your Building Reps/contacts,
Negotiations Teams and your Executive Board. The District will be
placing a bond levy on the November ballot and has started new
construction at the High School and doing things at the location of the
new elementary school up on Deardorf Road. Your OSEA will be
there so that all classified employees will have a shot at new job
openings that will be created. Your Executive Board has again
pledged to visit all the buildings again this school year if we get the
Time Release from the State Office. We want to meet everyone and
especially our new classified and of course, we will be wanting to sign
up new members and get some more building reps. Anyone needing
information, membership sign-up card or just want to chat, please call
me or any Executive Board member and we will make sure you are taken
care of. We had a table at the recent Benefit Fair at District Office and Terri Cobb was the winner of our raffle. She won a $25.00 gift card to Road House. Congratulations to Terri!! We had a lot of give away items, OSEA packets and we saw a lot of classified, certified and some administrators. Even Barbara Rommel stopped by and said hi. Building Reps, if you need any OSEA packets, please email me or one of your Executive Board members and we will get some to you. Last year's “end of the year” Pizza feed went very well with lots of pizza, pop and raffle prizes. We decided to start planning early again this year. It will be in May and we will make sure that it is well publicized. I have been asked about our new contract book and when can we expect a copy. They are at the printer as I write and I am very hopeful that everyone should have a copy by the middle of October. It’s wonderful to see everyone back and thank you to all.
