Chapter 44 Policies
Section 1: Chapter #44 of Oregon School Employees Association is formed
and organized with the provisions of Article IV of the OSEA Constitution.
Section 2: Chapter members with voting privileges must be employees of the
Parkrose School District #3. Only valid card-holding members with current
dues status shall be allowed voting privileges. All voting, regardless of
content, shall be done at the Chapter meeting. In the event that a special
election need be held (i.e.) contract ratification, membership shall be
notified 15 days prior to the meeting.
Section 3: Meetings of Chapter #44 shall be called by the President of the
Chapter. Chapter #44 shall hold a minimum of five (5) meetings a year.
Additional meetings may be called at the discretion of the President, or at
the call of the Executive Board.
Section 4: The Executive Board shall consist of the elected officers of the
Chapter plus the Junior Past President.
Section 5: Special meetings or Executive meetings may be called when necessary
be the Chapter President.
Section 6: All active members of Chapter #44 in good standing may be eligible to
hold office in the Chapter; however, no elected officer may hold more than one (1)
elective office at the same time.
Section 7: The elected officers shall be nominated and elected annually at a
stated meeting, due notice of such election to be sent to all members in good
standing. If an elected officer is unable to complete his/her term, the Executive
Board will appoint someone to fulfill the term. An elected officer may not hold
the same office for more that two (2) consecutive years.
Section 8: State constitution allows Chapter #44 to send ten (10) delegates to the
state conference. Chapter #44 shall pay fees for its newly elected officers, President,
Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer to attend the annual state conference. In the
event an officer(s) cannot attend, an alternate may be chosen to replace him/her. The
balance of delegate's fees may be paid with Chapter funds if funds are available.
