OSEA Chapter No. 600            Lane County Head Start

VOTES COUNTED: FAIR SHARE WINS, BUT...

If you haven’t had your morning coffee, you may have trouble following this train of events:

1st) The Agency and the Union included a Fair Share agreement in their new Contract Language, something that many employees told us was important to them.

2nd) Members voted, Fair Share won.

3rd) Then Fair Share was challenged: a petition drive was launched, (at times using questionable methods), in order to gather the minimum number of signatures needed to force a NLRB election in an attempt to de-authorize Fair Share.

4th) So, the NLRB election was held: Fair Share won, again!

5th) Now the petitioners have filed an objection with the NLRB, in an attempt to overturn the very election that they called for! Almost doesn’t sound “fair,” does it?

Plan on attending Monday’s chapter meeting to get the latest news! —David
