Chapter Action Plan
2004-2005

Overview

Chapter 95 represents 462 bargaining unit members located at worksites in Marion, Polk and Yamhill Counties. This years Chapter action plan, focuses on goals of chapter structure, assessment, board and member union skills training, BER development, membership and establishment of an active Chapter Action Team.

The chapter will work to improve communications with all certified and classifieds at their worksites. An assessment of the chapter leadership, representation and service structure will be assessed and revised to improve the chapter ability to identify problems and craft solutions to better serve the membership.

Identifying and training Building Employee Representatives will be a priority for this school year. Training will help to maintain the level of member service and committee work required for the chapter to function effectively.

The scope of work will include training for the executive board, building representatives and committees. Work will involve the development of a chapter organizational chart that defines the roles and responsibilities for the executive board and its committees. The chapter will also continue a membership drive to achieve the goal of 80% membership.

The chapter will work to connect its members with the State OSEA programs,
Services and trainings, promote member involvement in legislative activities
that will provide greater support for the bargaining unit and service to children.

When possible the chapter will utilize the resources of the Chapter member
Organizers, activists and volunteers in the implementation of the chapter action
plan.

The Chapter Action Team will work at the direction of the Chapter Executive Board.
