Listed below are tasks that each Chapter must do prior to attending the OSEA Conference at the Holiday Inn at the Portland Airport, 8439 NE Columbia Blvd, on June 26-28, 2008.
1. TOP PRIORITY - Make your hotel reservations NOW!!! Contact the Holiday Inn at the Portland Airport (503-256-5000), state that you are with the Oregon School Employees Association, and make your reservations for June. The cost for OSEA is $70 per night plus tax. (The cost includes up to four people per room). You may also make your reservations on-line by clicking here. Make sure you give the Group Code as "OSA". The Holiday Inn is located at I-205 at the Killingsworth Exit (8439 NE Columbia Blvd, Portland).
2. Resolutions - Send in your resolutions by February 1. These should be sent to the OSEA Resolutions/Constitution Committee, 4735 Liberty Rd S, Salem OR 97302.
3. Elect Conference Delegates - Hold chapter meetings during the months of March, April, or May and elect Conference delegates.
4. Minutes - When you elect your Conference delegates, send a copy of the meeting minutes to the OSEA Conference/Credentials Committee, 4735 Liberty Rd S, Salem OR 97302.
5. Register Delegates - Send registration forms for each Chapter delegate to OSEA, 4735 Liberty Rd S, Salem OR 97302. Make sure the information is accurate on each form. (You will receive these registration forms in the spring.)
6. Auction Items - Bring auction items for the Government Relations Auction. Every Chapter should bring two items that have been either purchased or created by someone in the Chapter. These items are auctioned off on Friday evening. All proceeds are given to OSEA's political action funds. If you have questions, please contact Ed Edwards.
7. Door Prizes - Bring door prizes for the Conference. These items are given away prior to the beginning of each session during Conference. It is always fun to win a prize.
8. Come to Conference - Come and debate on the resolutions, vote for your OSEA State Board, and have fun. This is a time to do the business of OSEA and to work and play with other OSEA members from around the state.
