OSEA Member Organizing
Summer Institute 2008

Selection Criteria

The following criteria will be used to select applicants for the Member Organizing Summer Institute 2008.

- Applicant is an OSEA member.

- Applicant has been selected and endorsed by Chapter
executive board.

- Applicant has the ability to attend MO training on a Friday,
Saturday. and Sunday without work or personal conflicts.

- Applicant has transportation to and from the training location.

- Applicant has good verbal/written communication skills.

 - Applicant has the ability to be released from work for up to 10
days.

- Applicant would like to be more involved in their Chapter and
develop organizing skills.

- Applicant has a commitment to grassroots organizing.

- Applicant is committed to strengthening their Chapter through
organizing.

- Chapter executive board has confirmed a Chapter need for
organizing. (Contract campaigns, membership drives, Chapter
strengthening, fair share, or other planned activities requiring
organizing). The Chapter endorsing the applicant must have a
chapter plan in mind. There must be an obvious need for a
trained chapter Organizer in the Chapter with specific areas in
which they will be put to use.
