The Lou Gerber Scholarship provides additional funding to those members who wish to further their education at an accredited school. OSEA sponsors two $1,000 scholarships for each of the seven zones in Oregon.

OSEA’s Kathy Melzer Mini-Grant program awards $400 to three OSEA members in each of the seven zones to be used for professional development, such as in-service training, workshops or seminars.

The Guy Davis Scholarship for graduating seniors awards $1,250 to each recipient. To be eligible, applicants must have a relative who is an OSEA member and have a minimum high school cumulative GPA of 3.0.

The John Brown Undergraduate Student Scholarship is a scholarship started by OSEA to provide assistance to college juniors and seniors who are related to an OSEA member in good standing.

“I will be attending Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn. beginning in the fall as a music business major. It has been my dream school since I was 10 years old, and — with OSEA’s help — I was able to afford that dream.”

“I would like to be part of maintaining libraries as an oasis for all souls who enjoy free space to relax and read; pursue research and knowledge; or join in community activities. I thank the OSEA Board and members for this very great honor.”
