Worksite Organizer (WSO) Training

Description of Event

WSOs are the face of their chapter in the workplace – they welcome new hires, answer questions, share information and keep chapter officers informed about any workplace issues. As the first OSEA member a new employee may meet, WSOs make sure all bargaining unit members know about their union and contract, and invite employees to become OSEA members themselves. There should be at least one WSO in every building.

This interactive training covers the fundamentals of organizing in your workplace, including:

• Talking to new hires and other bargaining unit members about their union and the importance of membership
• Inviting coworkers to join the union
• The most effective ways to share information about your contract and rights with fellow employees
• Tracking conversations and union involvement
