Your OSEA Board of Directors is a group of committed members who work hard for you at the state level and represents the interests of members throughout Oregon.
The elected officers are president, vice president and secretary, all of whom shall be elected for three-year terms, and a zone director from each zone, all of whom shall be elected for two-year terms and shall continue in office until their successors are elected. The past president serves on the Board in an honorary advisory, nonvoting capacity.
Officers shall be nominated and elected during the Annual Conference. The president, vice president and secretary shall be elected in alternating odd- and even-numbered years every third year of the position term. Zone directors from Zones I, III, V and VII shall be elected in odd-numbered years. Zone directors from Zones II, IV and VI shall be elected in even-numbered years. Conference delegates elect all Board members to their respective positions.
Each zone director holds at least one zone meeting per year and all chapter leaders are encouraged to attend.
Between annual Conferences, the Board of Directors conducts the necessary business of the union according to the direction provided by Conference delegates.
Board Meetings
The Board has regularly scheduled meetings throughout the year. All OSEA members are encouraged to attend.
Board Agenda
For every Board meeting, an agenda is drawn up to permit time for all matters needing the Board’s attention. Each Board meeting also includes “Member New Business.” This agenda item is for OSEA members to propose business items that need to be addressed by the Board.
