This program is designed to look out for the rights and benefits of retired OSEA members. ROSE is committed to the continued support of OSEA through activism and participation.
Purpose of ROSE:
- To meet the interests and needs of OSEA’s retired members
- To provide opportunities for retired members to remain active while utilizing their talents and expertise in helping to support OSEA’s overall programs
- To work with local OSEA chapters to provide volunteers in assisting with mentoring, mobilizing and other chapter activities
- To enable retirees to remain aware of PERS and legislative measures affecting retiree issues
- To become recognized and participate among national and statewide retired organizations
- To communicate OSEA information among retired OSEA members
ROSE is set up to provide assistance and communications throughout OSEA. There are seven ROSE coordinators, one in each of OSEA’s seven zones, along with a ROSE member-elected executive committee consisting of a chair, vice chair and secretary-treasurer. ROSE members also elect their own delegates to the annual OSEA Conference and are eligible for appointment to state committees.
OSEA members that retire are sent a ROSE membership application or can call the OSEA State Office to receive one at (800) 252-6732, or at rose.osea.org.
