Organizing Against the Odds: Q&A with Nema Brewer, AFT Kentucky 120 United Founder

Nema Brewer is one of the founders of KY120, a local in Kentucky that grew out of a protest against pension changes and became a force in state politics. Brewer spoke at OSEA’s Conference in June – wearing her trusty ballcap – about how Kentucky union members are facing a tough fight since their state passed “right-to-work” laws.

Beware Anti-Union Scams

“I got something in the mail that I thought was a survey from OSEA,” said Joyce, an OSEA member. “It said OSEA on it and had a list of questions to get my feedback about the union. I thought I was doing my part, sharing my perspective, so I signed it and sent it in.”
