Conference Resolution Deadline: February 1, 2023 – Submit Yours Now

At OSEA’s annual Conference delegates elected to represent their chapters conduct the business of the union and set OSEA’s course for the year ahead and beyond. One important way they do this is by voting on resolutions — proposed amendments to OSEA’s Constitution, Standing Rules and/or Board Policy — submitted by OSEA members.

All OSEA members are entitled and encouraged to propose resolutions. Resolutions can be submitted by any member in good standing, chapters in good standing (upon membership approval), Lifetime members, the Board of Directors and Retired Oregon School Employees (ROSE), OSEA’s retiree unit. All resolutions must be submitted to the executive director by February 1 to be brought before delegates at our next Conference.

Not sure where to start? The Resolutions/Constitution Committee is here to help! In accordance with the OSEA Constitution, Article XI, Section 3d, the Resolutions/Constitution Committee has been charged with informing and assisting members with the governance of their union. The committee offers expertise, training and support to help members bring their resolutions to Conference. It will also provide guidelines, materials and forms, formatting assistance and advice on how to present the specific idea or action so Conference delegates can make an informed decision.
