OSEA Legislative Education Day
Sunday and Monday, March 5 to 6, Salem, Oregon.
OSEA’s Legislative Education Day (LED) is the best opportunity for education workers to speak with our elected representatives face-to-face. During LED, we share our front-line stories and educate lawmakers on the issues facing schools, education programs and education workers today.
LED kicks off with a day of legislative speakers and trainings on Sunday, March 5, followed by member meetings with elected representatives and more on Monday, March 6. All LED participants should plan to attend the Sunday training, which will prepare you for meeting with legislators to discuss the issues we face daily and OSEA’s 2023 legislative priorities.
Members should register by Wednesday, February 1, to secure lodging. Visit our Legislative Education Day for registration and event details.
Government Relations Updat4e Group (GRUP!)
Recurring “Huddles,” Remote via Zoom
As a member-driven union, OSEA relies on our members to shape our legislative priorities. This year, we have launched a special opt-in group for members interested in our government relations program — the issues we are prioritizing this session, how we advocate, and how you can shape and contribute to our advocacy.
By joining the Government Relations Update Group (GRUP!), you can help us fight for better support for Oregon workers and schools. GRUP! will host regular opt-in remote meetings, called “GRUP! Huddles,” to provide timely updates on our priorities throughout the legislative session. The next GRUP! Huddle will be held Saturday, February 11, at 9 a.m. over Zoom. Email Susan Allen (Government Relations Specialists) or email Bob Estabrook for more details
