Leadership Summit, Saturday, March 1st
Chapter leaders are the backbone of our union. When officers from different chapters can get together, learn together and support one another, OSEA can achieve great things!
OSEA brought the annual Leadership Summit back to an in-person format this year for the first time since 2020. Nearly 100 members participated, coming around the corner and across the state.
During a full day of hands-on, interactive training, officers learned union leadership skills, like launching and supporting worksite organizer (WSO) networks and contract action teams (CATs). We practiced writing grievances and strengthening our case. And we took a deep dive into collective action and engaging allies in our community to boost our worker power.
Thank you to every leader who dedicated their weekend to skill building and growth, all to keep our chapters strong.
Legislative Education Day (LED), Sunday-Monday, March 2nd-3rd
More than 100 OSEA members from across the state gathered in Salem on Sunday-Monday, March 2nd-3rd, for Legislative Education Day (LED). The two-day advocacy event began with a day of intensive training on Sunday. Members dove into OSEA’s legislative priorities and practiced speaking to lawmakers. Monday was a whirlwind of small-group meetings with state lawmakers and their staff – an important opportunity for OSEA members to share our expertise as education workers.
