Conference 2025 will be here before you know it! On June 26-28, delegates representing OSEA chapters across the state will gather in Portland to set the course for our union’s future. Delegates vote on resolutions, elect the Board of Directors, approve the annual budget and more. They will also have a lot of fun – connecting with members from other chapters, participating in bingo, raffles and more and celebrating OSEA members and chapters.
The Conference Committee has chosen “Our Time is Now” for the theme. Based on feedback from delegates, Conference 2025 will continue some of the changes made to the Conference program last year: meals are covered for all attendees, banquet will be held on Friday evening to allow out-of-town delegates to attend, and there will be two sets of workshops on Thursday afternoon.
There is a lot to do before Conference! This issue of the Journal contains information on the resolutions and Board candidates up for a vote at Conference – all members should familiarize ourselves with the issues and discuss them with delegates, who should come prepared to debate and cast an informed vote. - Read resolutions thoroughly and discuss your thoughts, questions and concerns with delegates
- Review candidate statements and resolutions
- Register for Conference and make hotel reservations
- Apply for scholarship assistance, if needed
- Secure auction donations and door prizes
