Each year, OSEA chapters send delegates to the annual Conference, where they work together to make decisions about the future of our union. Conference delegates make up OSEA's highest governing body, and share the responsibility of electing the Board of Directors, debating and voting on resolutions, and passing the annual budget.
OSEA is a democracy, and every member's voice matters. You can shape OSEA's future during Conference 2027! While Conference won't happen until June, there are important actions, milestones and deadlines coming up much sooner.

Get Ready for Conference 2027
Be a chapter delegate: Delegates are members elected to represent their chapter in decisions that shape our union at the state level. Delegates travel to attend Conference in person, where they will participate in debates and cast important votes.
The process for electing delegates will be determined by your chapter constitution, but elections are typically held in early spring. Talk to your chapter president for details if you are interested in serving as a delegate.
Submit a resolution to help OSEA run better: A resolution is an official proposal to change OSEA's policy positions or governing documents (the OSEA Constitution, Board Policy and Standing Rules, which define what OSEA does and how we do it). Any member in good standing can submit a resolution.

Run for a Board position: OSEA's Board of Directors is made up of 11 members who govern our union between Conferences. At Conference 2027, delegates will elect the state treasurer and directors for Zones I, III, V and VI.
You can nominate yourself or a fellow member for a seat on the Board. Candidates and members making a nomination must be active members in good standing; zone director candidates must be part of a chapter in that zone.
Scholarships are available: Delegates are the voice of their chapters, and it's important for every chapter to send at least one member to Conference each year. OSEA offers scholarships for chapters that need assistance to help cover the cost of participating.
