What does it mean to be a member-driven union? At every level of our organization, you will find members at work. State committees are one important way members volunteer to make our union stronger. From developing the budget to planning our annual Conference, OSEA committee members are leading the way. Committee service also provides opportunities for leadership roles, personal growth, new friendships and rewarding accomplishments.
"I want to invite all OSEA members who are interested to apply to serve on a state committee. Our union needs you, and there is no better way to get to know members from other chapters, make a difference and grow as a leader," said OSEA President Sarah Wofford.
Committees meet three times each year during All Committee Day, when members gather to spend a Saturday collaborating on their assignments. Some committees hold additional meetings as needed.
The first All Committee Day of the 2023-24 year will be Saturday, Oct. 7. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year and assignments are made by the OSEA president.
