Conference is our union’s most important event of the year. Delegates elected to represent OSEA’s 139 chapters will gather to share and discuss ideas, elect officers, approve the annual budget and vote on resolutions to set the course for OSEA over the upcoming year and beyond. Conference is back to its traditional three-day schedule this year, allowing increased time for delegates to network, as well as the return of favorite Conference activities like workshops and the vendor fair.
The Conference Committee, a group of member volunteers co-chaired by Nicolle Landau of Lake Oswego Chapter 12 and Mary Marshall of Corvallis Chapter 2, chose the theme “Together We Shine” for Conference this year, celebrating the ways OSEA members and chapters support one another to achieve more together than we ever could alone. The committee has been hard at work planning fun events to take place during Conference. Here’s a sneak peek at what to expect.
GRO Auction
Support OSEA’s advocacy and take home great prizes! The Government Relations Office (GRO) auction is back with items to suit any taste. The silent auction will run through Saturday morning and the live auction takes place Friday.
Karaoke & Dancing
After the GRO live auction, it’s party time! Get ready to belt out your favorite tunes and cheer on fellow singers. Rose City Mobile Music will DJ.
Member Assistance Fund Raffle
Enter to win amazing donated prizes! Tickets are $1 each or six for $5. Proceeds go to the Member Assistance Fund, which provides financial assistance to OSEA members in crisis.
Star Wars Bingo
It just isn’t Conference without Bingo. Join us after dinner on Thursday for “Star Wars” Bingo and a cash bar. Proceeds support the Member Assistance Fund. May the force be with you!
Parade of Banners
Delegates will show their chapter pride during opening ceremonies by marching in the Parade of Banners. Each chapter banner is a unique celebration of the local membership. Participate for a chance to win a $100 Visa gift card!
Banquet & Awards Ceremony
Join us to celebrate the close of another memorable Conference. The banquet will include recognition for OSEA’s Employee of the Year, Member Advocate of the Year, Newsy Award and Membership Incentive Program-winning chapters and more.
