The collective bargaining agreement (CBA) between OSEA Nyssa Chapter 82 and the Nyssa School District guarantees an annual wage step increase for all classified school employees. But the district withheld the increase of 3.25 percent that should have been applied to all of our paychecks on July 1. Sign on to this grievance to demand that our employer follow the contract and pay employees what they have promised.
Statement of grievance: The district violated the parties’ CBA when it failed to provide step increases on July 1, 2026.

Article 7.1 Salary schedules
a. A new employee’s A new employee’s initial placement on the salary schedule up to Step 6 shall be determined at the discretion of the Superintendent. Upon hire every employee’s resume will be reviewed and step placement will be determined based off similar experience.
Salaries shall be stated on the salary schedule at the end of this Agreement.
Step increases of three- and one-quarter percent (3.25%) will occur on July first of each year for all employees with a step available to them on the twelve (12) step salary schedule.
Any and all other provisions of the CBA that apply.
Adjustment required – the district shall make bargaining unit members whole by, but not limited to: Provide step increases immediately with retroactive payments back to July 1, 2026, aligned with the terms of the CBA.
