Register Today for Legislative Education Day, March 5 to 6

Register today for Legislative Education Day (LED) on March 5 through 6, 2023! LED is the prime opportunity for elected officials at the state level to hear from the experts on education — OSEA members! Visit the OSEA Legislative Education Day to register today!

LED is a two-way learning process. First, legislators learn from OSEA members about the important work we do in schools and other education facilities. It’s also a great chance for members to take a deep dive into OSEA’s legislative agenda. You’ll also have a chance to hear from our state’s elected leaders. Speakers at prior LED events have included the governor, secretary of state, state treasurer and labor commissioner.

LED will be held in-person in Salem this year. The event will kick off with a full day of training on Sunday, March 5. Participants will learn about OSEA’s legislative priorities and get tips on speaking with lawmakers. On Monday, March 6, OSEA members will tour the Capitol, attend committee hearings and meet with their elected representatives in small groups to discuss the issues facing Oregon’s schools and education workers. Meetings are scheduled in advance so your representatives will be expecting you. The one-on-one contact with district legislators is a unique opportunity to make your voice heard in by lawmakers.

Time release is available for members regularly scheduled to work during LED. Watch for more communications from OSEA in the coming months for details on participating in LED! Visit the OSEA Legislative Education Day to register today!
