Membership, Chapters & Zones

OSEA represents more than 23,000 education employees across Oregon. Our members are organized into 138 local chapters in seven regional zones.

OSEA chapters are self-governed. Every chapter has its own constitution, an executive board of members elected to lead and a unique collective bargaining agreement (CBA) with their employer. Chapters reflect the needs and values of the local membership, while having the support and resources of the statewide association. Your chapter leaders and field representative represent you if you have an issue at work.

Any education worker represented by an OSEA chapter (also called a bargaining unit) can become a member. Members have a vote on their contract and a voice in our union.

Become a Member

Our chapters are organized into seven geographic zones. Every zone elects a member to serve on OSEA’s Board of Directors. Like your senator in Washington, D.C., your zone director represents members from your region when the Board makes decisions for the state association. You can always contact your zone director with questions or to voice your opinion on an issue.

Seeking Union Leaders

Our union relies on members who step up to serve in leadership roles within their chapter and at the state level. There are lots of ways you can get involved and make a difference.
